USS SEAWOLF (SS 197)

The U.S.S Seawolf (SS 197) was commissioned in 1939 and was in port in Cavite, Phillipines, on December 7, 1941. On December 8, Seawolf, under command of her first skipper, 'Fearless Freddy' Warder, put to sea for the purpose of destroying the Japanease Imperial Navy.

James Larson was a gunner on the Seawolf and, in 1942, took the pictures of his shipmates that you will see on the next page. The photographs show the Seawolf crew as they were - a tough. brave, competent, dedicated, fun-loving crew who were loyal to and proud of their country, ship and shipmates.
